Candle Care

  • The first burn of your candles is the most important! Wax holds memory from the first time it is lit. We recommend burning your candle for at least 2.5 - 3 hours the first time you light it, or until the melted pool of wax has reached the entire perimeter of the container. If this step does not occur your candle will most likely tunnel and waste wax.
  • Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours, this will prevent carbon from forming on the wick which creates black soot on your jar
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish all candles when you leave a room or before going to sleep.

  • Follow the 2 foot rule - don't place a burning candle near clothing, books, curtains or anything flammable.

  • Keep lit candles away from drafts, ceiling fans and any air currents.
  • Always trim your wick to 1/4 inch each time before you light your candle. This helps prevent the flame from getting too large and keeps your candle burning at its best!

  • Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.

  • Place candle holders on a stable, heat-resistant surface that is sturdy and large enough to catch any melted wax.
  • Always read and follow manufacturers' directions for use and safety, and extinguish a candle if the flame gets too close to the candle holder or container.
